Are you ready for a career that aligns with your values and aspirations?

At the National Tertiary Education Union (NTEU), we represent more than just staff in universities and tertiary education providers across Australia—we represent a community committed to progress and fairness.

About us

At NTEU, we believe in empowering our team members to make a real difference. As a part of our team, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to meaningful campaigns and projects that shape the future of tertiary education in Australia. We're not just offering a job; we're offering a rewarding career with a progressive organisation that values your dedication and passion.

About you

We're a tight-knit union representing academic and general staff in higher education across ACT universities and beyond. We've been making waves lately, scoring some big wins in Enterprise Agreements at top-notch institutions like ANU, University of Canberra, UNSW, and ACU.

If you're passionate about advocating for workers' rights and have some experience in Fair Work Commission or similar areas, we want to hear from you! You'd play a significant part in ensuring these agreements are upheld and enforced.

About the role

At the NTEU, you'd be right in the thick of it all - from hashing out collective agreements to standing up for our members in both industrial and university tribunals. You'd be sitting at the table with higher education leaders, tackling individual and collective issues head-on. But it's not just about negotiations, it's about empowering our members with top-notch industrial advice and training. And let's not forget the excitement of organising campaigns - together, we're making waves and driving change. Ready to jump in and make a real difference? We'd love to have you on board!

Why NTEU?

We're passionate about creating a workplace where everyone feels valued and has an equal chance to succeed. If you're qualified and enthusiastic about the role of Industrial Officer, we encourage you to apply!

Diversity is at the heart of what we do, and we're dedicated to building a team that reflects a range of backgrounds and perspectives. As part of our commitment, our employees enjoy benefits like paid study leave, assistance with further education, generous parental leave, flexible work options including remote work, and ample recreation time with five weeks of leave
