United Workplace Solutions (UWS) is seeking an experienced workplace relations practitioner in a consulting/contracting capacity, to provide support on a broad range of industrial relations and employment issues.

Focus Areas
• Preparation, negotiation and implementation of enterprise agreements
• Management of industrial relations and employment issues and disputes including unfair dismissals and general protections claims, employment contract disputes, equal opportunity claims, industrial action, and the provision of associated strategic employment and industrial relations advice
• Employee performance management including counselling, disciplinary and termination support
• Drafting and review of employment, secondment, consultancy and independent contractor agreements
• Independent workplace investigations of bullying, harassment, discrimination and related complaints – including report delivery and recommendations
• Workplace Training tailored specifically for business needs
• Strategic assistance in the implementation of workplace restructuring, termination and redundancy programs
• Formulation and drafting of workplace manuals, policies and procedures for employers
• Establishment of project-specific industrial relations management platforms and provision of proactive direction in relation to the day to day management of industrial and employment issues to support the workplace

Key Competencies:
• Proven background in enterprise bargaining and associated processes
• Strong understanding of relevant legislation including the Fair Work Act
• Excellent communication, drafting, interpersonal and relationship building skills
• Practical approach to legislative compliance, awards and enterprise agreements
• Sourcing, analysis and evaluation of research materials
• Ability to deal with unions, regulatory bodies, industrial relations tribunals and courts
• Proficiency in management of bargaining disputes
• Industry experience, preferably within the construction sector
• Relevant tertiary qualifications, or demonstrated equivalent knowledge and/or experience
• Service delivery orientation, attention to detail and accuracy
• Initiative to work autonomously and also within a team as necessary
