ORGANISATION
CCER is an advisory body for Catholic employers providing expert advice, support and training on employment relations and people management. CCER offers support on day-to-day matters and provides ‘big picture’ insights to assist its clients make their workplaces safer and more productive now and in the future.
The mission of CCER is to provide leadership through service to Catholic employers, to enable them, within the context of Catholic Church teaching to develop workplaces in which human dignity and justice are affirmed and expressed in employment relations. CCER values are collaboration, excellence and empathy.
POSITION
The Chief Executive Officer will report to the CCER Board. The CEO is the leader of CCER and ensures the planning and delivery of strategic and high-quality service to Catholic employers. The CEO will manage the Secretariat in line with the strategic plan and budget approved by the CCER Board and provides critical feedback on service quality, risk and new opportunities for development to the CCER Board. They will be proactive in their advocacy of the legal, HR and employment services provided by CCER.
PERSON
At the personal level, the appointee will have a firm commitment to the ethos of the Catholic Church. Ideally they will be a lawyer, employment relations specialist or educationalist who has an understanding of the ministries of the Church including parish, welfare and education at the Diocesan, Independent and System levels. They must have the ability to influence outcomes and possess high level negotiation skills. They will have appropriate tertiary qualifications and/or professional experience in education, law, employee relations or other relevant disciplines.
