The National Tertiary Education Union (NTEU) WA Division is seeking a highly motivated, member-focused individual with significant experience in organising, recruitment, and campaigning, either in a trade union or other non-profit organisations. The NTEU represents members in universities and other tertiary education institutions covering both academic and general/professional employees. The successful applicant will be committed to building the trade union movement, have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and knowledge of the tertiary education industry.
This is a full-time position and is offered as an 18 month, fixed-term contract to replace a staff member who is going on extended leave and will be available from December 2019.
You will be assigned a mix of duties at a local university and state-wide level including delegate development, recruitment and campaigns, training delivery, supporting Enterprise Bargaining, member assistance with workplace issues, research and report writing, and administrative tasks.
You will be co-located at the WA Division office in Subiaco and one or more university campus offices. You may be required to travel to other NTEU branches in Perth from time to time and a driver's license that is valid in WA is essential.
The position will be filled at either NTEU Level 5 ($83,623 - $90,411) or NTEU Level 6 ($94,409 - $103,497) depending on skills and experience, plus 17% employer superannuation contributions.
