Further business growth in Victoria, has created an opportunity for an experienced and vibrant Workplace Relations Lawyer (Associate) to join our team. You will be responsible for providing sound advice to our clients in the area of workplace law, and contributing to the work of the legal team to ensure excellence in work quality and service delivery. Working closely with Principal Lawyers, you can expect to undertake a good variety of work and be a part of a highly collegiate work environment.

Core Responsibilities
• Perform legal work to support the legal team in delivering accurate and timely advice
• Conduct thorough legal research to support the preparation of advice
• Communicate professionally with clients, to gain good knowledge of their businesses and needs
• Assist with the coordination of work for legal clerks and junior lawyers/associates
• Self-manage allocated tasks and legal files to ensure work is consistently completed to an excellent standard, and that clients receive what they need within set deadlines
• Lead and participate in peer-based learning and sharing
• Build and maintain strong, professional and productive relationships with all stakeholder groups
• Support business development activities to grow the firm’s business and profile
• Obtain referrals of work to the firm through the maintenance and development of your personal network
• Actively participate in the implementation of change processes to support business growth and efficiency
• Accurate complete time recording requirements and productivity measures
• Communicate to the team of changes that affect the business
• Work and conduct oneself in accordance with FCW Lawyers’ values

Qualifications & Experience
• Undergraduate law degree
• Postgraduate qualification in workplace law (preferable)
• Experienced Associate (minimum of 2 years work experience post-admission)
• Minimum of one year’s experience within a workplace relations practice under a skilled Principal.
