ABOUT THE ROLE

The Head of West Coast Workplace Relations is responsible for leading AMMA’s Workplace Relations consulting business and staff based in the Perth office.

A key member of AMMA’s Workplace Relations management team, the role is expected to contribute significantly to membership engagement, relationship management, and the identification and generation of fee for service opportunities for AMMA’s Western Australian operations.

The role involves:
• Contributing to the development and coaching of Workplace Relations team members.
• Supporting team members in generating fee for service work and identifying opportunities.
• Interfacing and engaging internal and external stakeholders on national and state based employment policy matters.
• Monitoring and reporting on financial performance and forecast.
• Being a key member of the AMMA management team tasked with developing and delivering business strategy.
• Overseeing Workplace Relations output to ensure technical accuracy, compliance, quality and value.
• Contributing to and supporting the development and implementation of appropriate systems and tools to create business efficiencies.
• Supporting and contributing to membership retention and recruitment.

ABOUT YOU
This leadership position will suit someone seeking a challenging and diverse management role with a passion for workplace relations. You will have tertiary qualifications in Legal, HR or IR (or equivalent industry experience). A legal background and relevant tertiary qualifications will be highly regarded.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following skills and experience:
• Comprehensive workplace relations knowledge and industry experience.
• Consultancy or law firm experience with the ability to manage all people and related commercial aspects.
• Proven ability to manage and lead a team with demonstrable coaching and development experience.
• Experience across all workplace relations disciplines, particularly enterprise bargaining strategy and execution.
• Entrepreneurial nature to dynamically respond to market needs, seek and secure business opportunities and develop products and people capability accordingly.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to undertake quality assurance for advice provided by team members.
