The Executive Director, Business Support oversees the operations of the business and corporate support functions. The role directly reports to the General Manager and is a key and influential member of the Executive Group, including assisting with organisational-wide leadership strategic planning, reporting, corporate and budgetary responsibilities.

The role is responsible for leading 60 staff including responsibility for the delivery of services for the teams within:

• Finance and Resources
• People and Culture
• Information Technology
• Governance, Records Management and Library

Duties:

• As a member of the Executive Group, set the strategic direction of the Commission, ensure effective governance and drive performance, while taking multi-faceted issues into account

• Drive a culture that facilitates high-achievement, professional development, innovation, responsiveness to changing needs and exemplary standards of corporate governance

• Oversee the business and corporate support functions, develop corporate strategies and deliver essential services and infrastructure to enable the Commission to achieve its outcomes

• Shape the branch’s strategic direction, develop branch plans and provide leadership to branch staff

• Ensure that support services are delivered in accordance with the Commission’s corporate objectives, best practice standards, and statutory requirements for areas of responsibility including People and Culture, ICT, Finance, Library services, Records management, Facilities, Security, and Governance

• Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders including the Commission’s senior management group, and other agencies, particularly Department of Finance, and external and internal auditors

• Undertake the role of the Commission’s Chief Security Officer and be responsible for the Protective Security Policy Framework

• Oversee and identify opportunities for major organisation projects including office accommodation, delivery of ICT projects, and business transformation

• Be accountable for the Commission’s financial statement preparation, Audit and budget preparation

• Represent the Commission and actively build sustainable professional relationships at a senior level across Government and other portfolio agencies, and with external organisations
