UNSW isn’t like other places you’ve worked. Yes, we’re a large organisation with a diverse and talented community; a community doing great things. But what makes us different isn’t what we do, it’s how we do it. Together, we are driven to be thoughtful, practical, and purposeful in all we do.

Taking this combined approach is what makes our work matter. It’s the reason we’re Australia’s number one university for impact and among the nation’s Top 20 employers. And it’s why we come to campus each day.
If you want a career where you can thrive, be challenged and do meaningful work, you’re in the right place.

Why your role matters

The successful candidate will play a key role in the Employee Relations team within Human Resources, to ensure that UNSW and its community maintains an environment and culture which reflects its values of integrity, transparency and ethical decision making. You will be responsible for leading and managing administrative services which support the implementation of a range of policies across UNSW, including conflicts of interest, foreign interference and secondary employment disclosures. Working closely with the Division of Planning and Assurance and the Human Resources Business Partnering Team, the role will ensure disclosures are appropriately managed and escalated when required, in accord with these policies.

Other key responsibilities Include:

• Oversee and maintain the online disclosure system, including the mandatory annual disclosure process and real time disclosures.
• Manage the information disclosed via the disclosure system and ensure appropriate action is taken. For example, ensuring that disclosure forms are correctly approved by supervisors and appropriate management plans are in place.
• Partner with the HR Business Partnering team in the Faculties and Divisions and act as the primary contact for key internal and external stakeholders regarding disclosures.
• Manage and respond to staff queries whilst identifying issues that require further investigation and action. Work with the HR Business Partnering team, the Employee Relations team, HR Legal Counsel and the Division of Planning and Assurance as necessary to escalate issues as appropriate and provide solutions to specific disclosures.
• Provide a high level of proactive advice to stakeholders and support the implementation of polices including training and compliance.
• Actively contribute to ongoing business process and system improvement and efficiencies, including working with the HR Systems team to implement improvements and changes to the online disclosure system.
• Work closely with Human Resources and the Senior Project Officer to provide feedback on policy implementation and identify areas for improvement.
• Maintain high levels of confidentiality and discretion.
Who you are
• Relevant tertiary qualification with subsequent relevant experience or equivalent experience.
• Experience in a compliance or human resources role within a regulated industry and a demonstrated ability to interpret legislation, ascertain compliance obligations and provide advice in a complex and diverse organisation.
