We have a senior leadership opportunity for a highly experienced Principal Solicitor at Wage Inspectorate Victoria (the Inspectorate). The new role will sit within a soon-to-be-established Legal team at the Inspectorate.
The Principal Solicitor assists the Special Counsel in the provision of expert legal services within the Inspectorate, covering a broad range of legal, workplace relations, administrative and legislative matters. Another key aspect of this position is to build and manage a team of legal practitioners, through providing people leadership and developing and managing the day to day operational aspects of an in-house legal practice.
As the successful candidate you will hold deep experience and expertise in workplace law, combined with excellent legal, research and analytical skills and a demonstrated ability to translate complex legislation and policy to practical operational requirements. Prosecutorial experience from a regulatory or law enforcement position would also be highly regarded.
