The Opportunity

As the technical and strategic expert advisor to the Head of People, Culture and Organisational Performance in relation to industrial and employment relations, you will lead and manage a multi-disciplinary team which delivers strategic, governance and technical advice across Council. Furthermore, you will be the principal liaison and relationship manager for Council's key industrial and workplace governance external stakeholders, including the Crime and Corruption Commission, Elected Officials, external auditors and various unions.

As well as providing IR / ER services, the team is responsible for payroll and data analytics, having regard to the applicable state and federal legislation and relevant Council policies, guidelines and procedures.

About you

Inspiring leadership skills and exemplary relationship and stakeholder management is key to the success of this role. Additionally, you will be highly resourceful, adaptable and solution-focussed to meet targets and drive business strategies. We are looking for someone with a passion for fostering a supportive, collaborative and resilient team culture.

You will also have considerable knowledge and experience in employee and industrial relations and workplace governance to deliver effective human resources, gained in a medium to large organisation, including highly developed technical and professional specialised knowledge of relevant state and federal legislation and experience in industrial relations advocacy.

Eligibility requirements

Mandatory Criteria
o Tertiary bachelor qualification in Law, Business (or similar) with a major / focus on IR / ER / Governance or related field and extensive experience in a senior technical role
o C Class Driver's Licence
