Position Summary: The Industrial Relations Officer provides assistance and support to staff in gathering information, researching the regulatory environment, and preparing opinions and regulatory documents.
Essential Criteria:
Qualifications:
Undertaking Bachelor of Laws or equivalent; or
Certificate, diploma or similar qualification in relation to industrial officer activity
Experience:
Demonstrated experience in regulatory research and analysis
Experience drafting memoranda, letters of advice, research papers and articles

Demonstrated capacity to take instruction and ensure procedures are followed
Demonstrated ability to work independently, under pressure and meet required deadlines
Excellent interpersonal skills and the capacity to work with a wide range of teams
Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
Ability to undertake research and analysis of a wide range of industrial relations issues
Ability to provide non-complex industrial relations advice
Ability to conduct self in an ethical, professional and efficient manner that upholds the values and best practices of the organisation
Main Activities:
Responding to industrial relations issues:
Identify and analyse industrial relations issues and requirements
Review instructions and supporting documentation, provide research, factual information, and supported opinion on industrial relations questions or issues
Provide follow-up advice to ensure the client organisation understands the advice and is able to implement the recommendations
Educate the client organisation to learn to identify industrial relations issues and when to refer the matter for legal advice
Drafting documents:
Analyse and identify issue and client requirements
Draft terms and conditions of employment, settlement terms, and other regulatory documentation
Prepare memoranda of advice and other tailored responses to client issues
Ensure proposed agreements and documents are consistent with client policy and project requirements
Prepare fee estimate and billing documents and provide information as required
Prepare affidavits of documents and maintain document files and case correspondence
Review and file pleadings, petitions and other documents relevant to court actions
Deliver or direct delivery of subpoenas to witnesses and parties to action
Due diligence assessments:
Engage relevant client business units to analyse and define issues and requirements
Collate all relevant information
Refer matters to external providers if required by CO or Director
Manage deadlines and industrial relations costs
Project work:
Prepare the industrial relations framework for projects as instructed by clients
Prepare project documentation
Coordinate the industrial relations case communications for each client project
Filing:
Keep filing system up-to-date and ensure information is able to be readily retrieved
Team activity and training:
Collaborate with others to maximise Company performance
Attend external and internal seminars on relevant topics wherever relevant
Complete training sessions as directed by the Company
