- About the branch and role
The Workplace Relations and Occupational Safety (WROS) Branch enjoys an extraordinary diversity of exciting and challenging matters. The work can range from providing advice and conducting litigation in relation to all aspects of Victorian Public Sector occupational health and safety matters, employment, industrial relations, and discrimination law.

We are seeking a senior and experienced lawyer to join the VGSO as a Managing Principal Solicitor in our WROS Branch, focusing on occupational health and safety (OHS) matters.

Reporting to the Assistant Victorian Government Solicitor (WROS), this role will lead and supervise a small team of lawyers, while providing high quality legal services to Government and efficiently managing litigation files.

- About the successful applicant
The ideal applicant will have demonstrated people leadership capability and be eager to supervise, mentor and develop a team of lawyers.

Along with the ability to develop positive existing client relationships and establish new business opportunities, applicants should also be able to demonstrate sound judgement on complex OHS legal matters based upon significant experience.

Although not essential, an understanding of the structure and culture of government would be beneficial.
