Experiencing growth, we are seeking an experienced and passionate Employment Lawyer who takes a human approach to dealing with clients and their matters.
About the job
You’d be joining us at a time of positive change as we continue to grow, learn and develop. This role is primarily about delivering accurate & timely workplace law advice to new and established business clients. You won’t need to source the clients but you will be required to deliver on point solutions & advice, and to work to continue to build and grow existing client relationships.
The main areas of responsibility include:
Delivering accurate legal advice regarding employee entitlements, compliance with awards and agreements and post-employment restraints
Meeting billables targets (& ours look a little different to other firms)
Building strong, long term relationships with clients – we are not into transactional
Working with clients to identify and manage potential risks.
Managing initial consultations, with & later without the Principal.
To give you the best start, this role will absolutely rely on your extensive experience and knowledge in workplace law. An ability to insightfully assess and understand client needs and expectations; and deliver an experience that meets this standard, is paramount.
As you know, workplace challenges are often unpredictable, fast paced and stressful. A truly successful employment lawyer needs a good dose of resilience, tenacity and flexibility. Your strong attention to detail, organisation skills and quick thinking will go a long way also. As will discipline, taking initiative and being a self starter.
The position needs for you to have the following:
Degree qualified in Law with strong academics, and employment law experience
Hold a current practising certificate
Proven experience as an Employment Lawyer with a successful track record in meeting individual billable targets, and managing fee expectations
Confidently provide legal advice and solutions to complex employment matters
Strong problem-solving and research skills, an ability to connect the dots efficiently
Excellent organisation, time management and delegation skills.
