This role is an exciting opportunity for someone who is still developing their skills in union organising to join our NSW team. You will be an integral part of a small, dedicated team of energetic and driven professionals at our offices in the heart of the Sydney CBD.

30The role involves working with members and workplace leaders to plan and implement campaigns that build the strength of the union and deliver good industrial outcomes. The focus of the role will generally be in local government and the water industry however you will also have the opportunity to work across other industries such as energy, transport and the public sector.

Do you have these attributes?
• Experience in developing workplace leaders and members to create sustainable workplace representative structures and organising committees.
• Excellent written and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to build relationships to influence and motivate others
• Demonstrated ability to recruit and retain members and develop recruitment strategies
• Ability to plan and prioritise work and to work autonomously as well as in a small team with often competing demands.
• High degree of computer literacy and the use of digital campaigning tools
• A passion for workers’ rights and a strong commitment to union values
• Relevant tertiary qualifications
• Current driver’s license
