If you've got many strings to your bow, and you're looking for a new part-time opportunity, your best bet for career (and personal) satisfaction is the one that allows you to use all of your skills and apply them to a really great cause, one that's genuinely changing the lives of those around you for the better. Of course, roles like that are pretty rare.

That's why today is your lucky day!

The National Tertiary Education Union is seeking a highly motivated individual to join its team of industrial and organising staff.

About you

You're a born communicator: constantly listening for cues, effortlessly engaging. Your written and verbal communication skills are top-notch, which means that you're just as persuasive in person as you are when writing compelling copy for a range of applications and channels.

Your high level of attention to detail is what sets you apart from the competition - nothing gets past your eagle eyes. And when it comes to the office, you're just as happy directing yourself as you are working with a team. Most of all, you believe in what we do and have a desire to get that message out there. Which is why you'd be perfect to join us!

About the role

You will be assigned a mix of duties, including, as part of a team, taking responsibility for the completion of assigned organising, campaign, and administrative tasks or projects.

If you have any of the following:

A commitment to unionism
Experience in recruitment, routine office tasks, writing and campaign skills.
Knowledge of the tertiary education industry and experience in the support of activist networks
Then we would love to hear from you!

Important things to know

Currently the role is offered at 28 hours per week (0.8), comprising an ongoing component of 21 hours per week (0.6) and an additional 7 hours per week (0.2) which is offered on a fixed term contract basis coincident with the duration of an annually reviewable flexible work arrangement of another employee.
